Survey of Public Participation in the Arts: Summary Report. This report describes the results of the Survey of Public Participation in the Arts (SPPA). In addition to attendance at arts activities and participation through broadcast and recorded media, the report covers geographic and demographic differences in participation, arts socialization, music preferences and other leisure activities as well.

The Survey of Public Participation in the Arts (SPPA) is the fourth nationwide SPPA sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts. The SPPA consisted of 12, telephone interviews conducted from June to October by Westat Corporation of Rockville, Maryland.
